In management consulting, Rainer combines his experience from industry – most recently as a managing director -, as a project manager in leading management consultancies and applied science skills as a professor of marketing & sales. In addition, he is the author of various publications, including management articles in the FAZ and Harvard Business Manager, as well as books published by Springer Gabler. He gives lectures at symposia and congresses.

Strengths and career successes
Rainer has almost 20 years of experience in well-known companies such as Beiersdorf AG (NIVEA/ tesa), where he started his career in sales and marketing. This was followed by positions at the business consultancy Droege & Comp. and at Simon-Kucher & Partners (SKP). Here he managed sales and marketing projects with a focus on B2B industries, including in Latin America, the USA and various European markets. Finally, he took over the management of a medium-sized company in Madrid before becoming professor of general business administration, in particular marketing and sales, at Esslingen University of Applied Sciences in 2013. In 2014, he was a founding partner of the Steinbeis Sales and Marketing Institute.

He studied business administration in Germany and England and received his doctorate in marketing from the renowned chair of Prof. Dr. Franz-Rudolf Esch.

Sector and specialities
Rainer’s consulting focus is on price management, sales management, marketing strategies and brand management, especially in business-to-business companies. Due to his in-depth experience, he also conducts market research projects for various clients, including expert interviews and focus groups.
